To date, hundreds of families have enjoyed time away through the Cottage Dreams program but with 57,200 new cancer cases being diagnosed in Ontario this year and the growing number of placement requests, we need to raise the funds to continue offering families this much needed, precious time together.

The start-up funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation recently completed and we have not been able to secure additional government commitments.  As Survivorship has not yet been on the agendas of either Federal or Provincial decision makers, we rely on private and corporate donations.

Cottage Dreams was just named one of the top charities in Canadian Living magazines upcoming holiday gift guide and with 10,000 website visits a week now, imagine the upcoming traffic.

Where my money goes

All funds raised are used for the coordination of each placement.  This includes program costs such as insurance, program coordinator/administration, end of visit reviewers, visiting each donated cottage and raising funds and awareness through the marketing & promoting of Cottage Dreams Cancer Recovery. One of our goals in 2008 is to raise the funds to create improved information technology in the organization with a new software program.

Cottage Dreams brings money into cottage country like no other charity

Unlike many charities, Cottage Dreams contributes to the economy of each of our cottage communities through our visiting families.  Each family spends over $500.00 a week locally on items such as gas, groceries, souvenirs, attractions and restaurants.  This means thousands of dollars are being poured into cottage country across the province.
