To date, over 1000 families have enjoyed time away through the Cottage Dreams program but with 60,100 new cancer cases being diagnosed in Ontario last year and a 67% increase in the number of placement requests this year alone, we need to raise the funds to continue offering families this much needed time together.

As Survivorship is not on the governments agenda yet, we have not been able to secure any government commitments therefore, we rely on private and corporate donations to coordinate each cottage donation and the families we match them with.

ONWARD & UPWARD

• The placement goal for 2011 is 400 families.
• There has been a decrease in donations to Cottage Dreams and there is a 67% increase in applications this year over last.
• Web traffic increases to 100,000+
• Our volunteers have given 1000 hours of service since January 2011.
• Cottage Dreams is the only charity in Canada that celebrates cancerrecovery.
• Some of our opportunities include sponsoring The Ripple Effect webpage or your company can become a title sponsor (e.g. The 2011 Your Company Cottage Dreams program).

Where does my money go?

All funds raised are used for the coordination of each placement.  This includes program costs such as insurance, rent, telephones and other office expenses, program awareness, the review and coordination of every visitor application, the hand-matching of each applicant with the perfect cottage.

Currently, 3 staff are paid for by Human Resources Canada.

Cottage Dreams brings money into cottage country like no other charity

Unlike other charities, Cottage Dreams contributes to the economy of each of our cottage communities through our visiting families.  Each family spends over $700.00 a week locally on items such as gas, groceries, souvenirs, attractions and restaurants.  This means thousands of dollars are being poured into cottage country across the province.
