A Volunteer opportunity that fits your needs and schedule

updated January 4th, 2010

Cottage Dreams is a registered Canadian charity that relies on a team of volunteers, who have helped to make Cottage Dreams such a success. There are a number of ways that you can become a valued volunteer.

Cottage Dreams holds a number of special events throughout each year in Toronto and Cottage Country.  We are currently recruiting to our Golf Committee and Mosquito Party Committee.  Please contact us if you are interested in joining the team.

http://www.appling.k12.ga.us/FDESWeb/awards.htm Site Representative **NEW

Each donated property is visited and photographed by a volunteer Site Representative as a way to file each cottage and send the applicant family photos of the cottage they will visit. We work with your schedule to determine which cottage area(s) you wish to visit. We hope that the representative will be able to visit 2-4 cottages each day offered, with each visit lasting approximately 30 minutes. We need Site Reps who are able to volunteer year round, however appreciate whatever time you can give. New areas include Kawartha, Bancroft, Bruce and Grey areas.

Introduce Cottage Dreams at your lake association meeting. We have prepared kits to help you promote the organization to fellow owners who may donate their cottage for a week or who may bring their workplace on board. Please contact info@cottagedreams.org to request a kit.

Cottage Dreams relies solely on private and corporate donations and fundraising events to support program growth. Fundraising is a vital aspect of Cottage Dreams. We are now recruiting volunteers to sit on the fundraising committee. We ask that volunteers commit to approximately ten hours a month.

Assist the Fundraising Committee with tasks that will help to raise money for program expansion for Cottage Dreams. Tasks could include procurement, online research, special events, or cold calling. The time commitment is flexible.

If you live (either full-time or part-time) in an area where our donated cottages are located, we could use your help. Visiting families often have community-based questions during their stays (What are the best attractions? Where can we rent a video?) and appreciate being able to contact someone locally by telephone. It makes such a difference to each family to know there is a friendly voice close by. Based on your schedule, we will contact you once we have confirmed a placement in your area and you can let us know if you are available to help.

All volunteers are asked to participate in a screening process, which includes an interview, reference checks and a criminal record check. If you are interested in any of these volunteer positions or have another interest or skill you could bring to Cottage Dreams, please click here, call (705) 457-9100 or fill out the form below.
