About David Hickey
David Hickey is a full time painter and metal sculptor living in Lakefield Ontario. David's work is seen throughout Ontario including such galleries as Meta 4, Port Perry, Ethel Curry Gallery, Haliburton, Metalurge, Toronto, and Stony Lake Furniture in Lakefield.

About the Muskoka Chair
To begin the painting process I  first applied an exterior primer to the entire chair. Then using a combination of exterior latex, acrylic and enamel paints, I painted the scenes on the arms and  the back of the chair.

Some painted areas were then lightly sanded and painted over with successive layers of paint to create depth, texture and  tonal interest. The final step was to paint the background with an exterior latex paint.
